What type of foundation do I need for an RTM?

RTMs can be placed on either a crawlspace or a full basement, depending on your preference and site conditions.

How big of a house can you build with an RTM?

Our maximum size is 36’ wide by 70’ long, but the size may vary depending on the project and location

Do we have to use one of your plans or can we modify one?

You are not limited to our plans. We’ll work with you to create a custom design based on your ideas, or modify one of our existing plans to suit your needs.

Can you build a two-story RTM?

Yes, we can design and build two-story RTMs. We’ll ensure the design allows for safe and efficient transportation.

Can you help with the interior design process?

Yes, our in-house design team is available to guide you through the interior design process, with access to a full showroom for customization.

Do you arrange for the transportation of the home?

Yes, we handle the transportation, working with experienced movers to ensure safe delivery and placement on your foundation. It’s the homeowner’s responsibility to prepare the site.

Will the walls crack during the move?

Minor drywall cracks are common during transport. These are purely cosmetic and will be repaired after the home is set down.

What type of warranty do you offer?

We offer a one-year workmanship and structural warranty, along with applicable manufacturer warranties.

Am I limited to just your plans?

Pioneer Homes is a custom builder. We encourage you to bring your ideas, and our team will work with you to create a home that fits your unique needs.

Where do you all deliver homes to?

We deliver custom homes to Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, North Dakota, and Minnesota.

Will you come inspect the property to make sure an RTM home will fit?

Yes, we’ll inspect the site to evaluate accessibility, identify potential challenges, and suggest solutions. Our movers will also inspect the route before delivery.

Who builds my foundation?

The homeowner is responsible for building the foundation. We can recommend reliable contractors if needed.

Does my home get inspected as it’s being built?

Yes, all homes are inspected by local authorities during construction. RTMs for North Dakota or Minnesota undergo third-party inspections to meet state requirements.

Can an RTM be built with a garage or do you build garages?

We can build garages for RTMs, either as a single unit or in separate pieces, depending on the size and design.

How do I finance my custom home or RTM?

We recommend speaking with a financial advisor or mortgage specialist to discuss financing options tailored to your project. We can also provide guidance on how to navigate the process.

How do you communicate with clients throughout the project?

While we cannot guarantee a fixed exchange rate, we recommend discussing options with your financial institution to lock in a favorable rate at the time of purchase.

are there additional duties for delivering the home across the border?

When delivering to the U.S., we handle all logistics, including necessary paperwork and compliance with import regulations. There may be customs duties or taxes based on the value of the home, but we will guide you through the process to ensure everything is in order.
